The enterprise seniors’ centre „Maranatha“ was founded 1974 with one house. Today the enterprise consists of 12 houses with different living arrangements. In addition to the home for the elderly and nursing home there is a church, a health centre, sheltered housing and a hotel that is to become a high class wellness hotel. Alone in the 8 buildings of the nursing home live more than 250 residents who need care. „Maranatha“ is the second largest employer in the city of „Sinzig“ with more than 280 employees.
The Ahr, Rhine and Eifel region is well aware of its natural advantages. The variety of its countryside is no secret – the volcanic Brohl Valley, the romantic Rhine between Bad Breisig and Remagen, the pretty Ahr Valley with its steep vineyards and the imposing hilly landscape of the Eifel. The Bad Bodendorf spa town is the „Gateway to the Ahr Valley“. This is where the Red Wine Trail begins, which leads guests on a famous walk to Altenahr. The swimming pool which shows nostalgic flair with thermal water which is beneficial for body and soul and relieves a variety of different illness. Emperor Friedrich I Barbarossa von Hohenstaufen must also have felt very much at home on the Rhine and in particular in the small town of Sinzig. The „Barbarossa town“ is not only able to present its history in guided tours – since 2004 the „Medieval Barbarossa Market“ has taken place with a great deal of success in September. This is the perfect place to see jugglers, to have a hearty meal, to enjoy some high-quality spirits and to watch swords being drawn.
